Short resume

Education

Dec 2010 – March 2016

PhD. Study in Chemical Engineering, Delft University of Technology

Study of the crystallization and microencapsulation of sensitive materials in complex multicomponent systems.

Feb 2008 – May 2010

MSc. Chemical Engineering, Delft University of Technology

Master Thesis, a comparative study on microwave assisted steam reforming of alcohols for hydrogen production.

Conceptual Product Design, a team project on the ‘milking’ of taxanes from yew trees in a sustainable way. Teamwork, creativity, communication, resourcing and reporting were key requirements.

Sep 2002 – Feb 2009

BSc. Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology, Delft University of Technology

Bachelor Thesis on the development of a calibration device for nano particle analyzers using electrospray.

Sep – Dec 2004

Participation in first round of the 2004 New Venture business plan contest

In a team, as part of the course “Sustainable Development with Technology”, centered around the production of a cheap and innovative solar cell. Won one of the ten first prizes.

Sep 1996 – Jun 2002

High school: Gymnasium, Petrus Canisius College (PCC), Alkmaar, Profile: Nature and Technology, with Latin and Economy.

Work experience

May – Aug 2009

Internship at Dr Ten B.V; the goal of the internship was to perform a feasibility study for a new type of battery, including the experimental investigation of the desired reactions on the electrodes, as well as development of the electrodes.

2002 – 2006

Side Jobs; informing scholars about studying Chemical Engineering at TU Delft, and student life in Delft on open days, and others
