Sound production due to a constriction in the urethra

Project description:

A stenosis in the urethra can produce sound due to turbulent flow structures. This sound can be recorded and there are definite differences between the sound with and without blocking of the urethra. Quantitative means are needed to interpret the sound field with less dependence on microphone position, human body shape et cetera. The sound field is numerically investigated using direct numerical simulation (DNS) with an in-house code.
