Photocatalytic degradation of toluene under controlled periodic illumination

The objective of this project is to determine the effect of controlled periodic illumination on the photonic efficiency, degradation, and energy saving of the photocatalytic degradation of toluene in an annular LED photoreactor. To accomplish the project objective, the control system will first have to be modified to allow controlled periodic illumination instead of continuous illumination. Afterward, the period, the light time, and the dark time will be varied to determine the effect of each variable. Finally, the effect of controlled periodic illumination and continuous illumination at similar intensities will be compared.
