Colloquium
venue
The colloquium will be held in the “Aalmarktzaal“ room of the ”Stadsgehoorzaal“ building in the city of Leiden. The
address is: Breestraat 60, 2311 CS Leiden, The Netherlands, tel
+31-(0)71-5162406. When you enter the building at the main entrance, follow the
signs for “Aalmarktzaal“ to get to the lecture room.
The Stadsgehoorzaal is a monumental theatre / congress
building and located in the historic centre of Leiden. The building
dates from 1891 and was built in neo-Renaissance style. Leiden
is on a distance of some 20 kilometers from The Hague to
its south and some 40 kilometers from Amsterdam
(head capital) to its north. It has excellent public transport connections with
other major cities in The Netherlands as well as Amsterdam Airport
Schiphol (16 minutes by train,
see below).

Getting there
and around
The colloquium venue is located in the historic centre of Leiden and on walking distance from the
railway station “Leiden Centraal”. A direct train
connection exists between Amsterdam Airport Schiphol and railway station “Leiden Centraal”, which takes 16 minutes. Trains are leaving 4
times per hour during daytime, see www.ns.nl/en
